CYCLISMAS and ABUS Announce New Online Lock Contest
(Worcester, MA) Cyclismas, the popular online cycling-centric website, and ABUS Mobile Security have teamed up to bring readers of the satire and commentary website a innovative contest set to run over the course of the next six months.
Cyclismas Editor Lesli Cohen said, “With ever growing numbers of people commuting by bicycle, we thought the time was right to team up with ABUS for a contest that was in keeping with the spirit of Cyclismas – an opportunity for our audience to use their creativity to allow them to win great prizes that will help them keep their bikes safe.”
“We turned to Cyclismas because not only are they a lot of fun, they also ‘get’ cyclists – both racers and commuters. Their UK-based Trek/Cyclismas Pro Commuter team was the inspiration for us to reach out to and see if we couldn’t do something equally innovative here in the US, a reward to people for using their creativity while keeping their eyes open for interesting sights and sounds along their bike commuting or training routes,” said ABUS’s Joan Hanscom.
Every other Tuesday Cyclismas readers will have the opportunity to participate in a new contest. The contest kicks off this week with the author of the best bike lock haiku winning a Granit X-Plus Bordo. Each contest will feature a new creative challenge and a different ABUS lock.
New contests will be announced on @ABUS_Locks and @Cyclismas Twitter and Facebook feeds on Tuesday mornings and will close for entries on Friday night. Winners will be announced the following Monday. Judging will be done by Hanscom, Cohen, and Dan Ellmore, a bronze medalist in British track cycling and a popular personality in the cycling world.
