Star Tours – Episode 13

By Rebecca Love · On July 12, 2013

Contador Solo has been doing a lot of thinking. Unsure of his position within the rebel alliance, and how to temper the aims of the rebels with his own personal ambitions, he has been unconvinced about remaining allied to the cause. However, the resurgence of the Empire, culminating in attacks directed at his friends, appears to have steadied his resolve.

The Movistarr, led by the space pirate Valverde, and associates of the Separatists, have been invited by the Jedi Council to discuss the demands and intentions of the Separatist movement. The meeting in the Stateroom starts well, but as the Jedi sit having greeted their guests, the Movistarr turn the tables and take their hosts captive.

A young Jedi attendant escapes the council chambers unseen, and hurries to raise the alarm. Hearing of the kidnap, Solo rushes to the flight hanger, where the crew he has hand-picked for the Millenium Falcon are preparing the freighter for a delivery run.

Skilled Belkin warriors Mollema and Ten Dam celebrate their skill

Solo’s formidable Millenium Falcon crew is led by the trusted and battled-scarred tactician Rogers, with the experienced and wily Roche, Tosatto, Bennati and Kreuziger. They rush to the council chambers, and en route are joined by the skilled Belkin warriors Mollema and TenDam, yet again demonstrating their composure under pressure.

The Movistarr are alerted to the presence of the rescue party, and activate the timelocks on the council chambers, placed there in the event of an attack but now being used against the Jedi. Solo and his team, along with the Belkins, Marco Cavrissian and his lieutenant Chavanel, and with a handful of others are able to reach the entrance to the council chambers before the locks are activated, but everyone behind can only wait to discover what will unfold.

Movistarr activate the timelocks trapping Froome Skyrider on the wrong side

Trapped the wrong side of the timelocks, Froome Skyrider is furious with himself for not being quicker. Relieved that the Jedi are in safe hands with Solo, and that the Movistarr will get their just desserts, he is however bitterly disappointed that he can play no part in events.

Skyrider is correct. The select, experienced group, though small, proves more than a match for the Movistarr. Desperate, the Movistarr move to their secret weapon, a blaster that can open a timewarp to swallow the rescue party, which they had stolen in a raid on an Empire Star Cruiser. Unable to work the blaster properly, the Movistarr accidentally turn the weapon on themselves, opening a ten-minute timewarp behind them. Sensing his opportunity, Cavrissian capitalises on the hard work done by Solo’s team and the Belkins in corralling the Movistarr, sending them straight into the heart of the timewarp with a perfectly positioned acceleration. Appearing on the other side of the timewarp, the disorientated Movistarr are sent packing.

Congratulating and thanking the rescue team for their efforts, Master Yoda appears confused.

“Cavrissian! Heard you were dead, we did!”

“Nah,” replies Cavrissian with a grin. “Rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated.”
