Star Tours – Chapter 19

By Rebecca Love · On July 20, 2013

The rebels are celebrating.  Their Engineers were right; two swift ascents to 10,000 lightyears have disrupted the fragile stability core of the TimeWarp device they were able to seize from the Separatists, and rendered the weapon useless.  But these efforts have not been without their complications.  As the rebels ascended with the device for the second time, a small TimeWarp was created, swallowing Skyrider and Porte, and spitting them out 20 seconds later, the duo emerging disorientated and confused, minus several thousand galaxy credits and with a strange and overwhelming craving for sugar.

The Separatists are furious to have lost their precious TimeWarp weapon to the rebels.  Using the plans they took from the Empire base at Ghapp they quickly fashion a second device, and prepare it for testing.  A number of the members of the Jedi Council are alerted to the devices existence by the disturbance in creates in the Force, and the rebels rush to the position indicated to face their enemy.

The rebels reach the Separatists just before they commence the tests on the device.  Distracting the guards, Rolland is able to not only capture the device itself, but also to grab the plans so that no further devices can be created.  Rolland speeds off, with the Separatist Hesjedi close on his tail.

Hesjedi and the Bounty Hunter Rolland go head to head, Rolland proving the victor at the summit of L’Épine, seeing off Hesjedi, before he cramps up on the descent.  Rui Costa, the same Separatist who prevented the rebels getting their hands on the plans for the TimeWarp device just a few days ago, sees his chance, and swoops towards the unfortunate Rolland.

Behind Rui Costa clouds gather, and the rebels soon find themselves not only racing towards a showdown with the Separatist factions, but also the eye of a storm.  The crew of the Millennium Falcon lead the main cluster of rebels into the dangerous area christened The Redonkathon by the Separatists.

Rui Costa catches up with Rolland, attacks viciously, retrieving the device and the plans, and accelerating away.  Trainee Jedi Bakelandts, Padawan to the legendary Jedi knight Obi-Jens Kenobi, splits off from the rebels and chases hard.  With him is the clone warrior Klöden, De Clercq, a member of the Wookiee Grrreipel’s squadron, famous for a narrow victory in the Giro where he held off Darth Scarponi alone, and Navarro, a former associate of Contador Solo.  The rebels track Rui Costa, but the Separatist fighter is too far ahead, and no matter how hard the rebels try he cannot be caught.  Once again, Rui Costa is able to make the jump to hyperspace and escape the rebels.
