Many including myself are not familiar with the Team side of a race like the Tour of China. I'm lead to believe that the cycling teams are paid to be there. I could be wrong.

Wouldn't the pay from WCP events keep Vaughter's team organization quiet?

It does have something to do with the ASO. The ASO is the operational force behind Oman in conjunction with Merckx. The ASO was comfortable in recommending to Oman to withdraw the bid, as they already have been installed in the Tour of Beijing, and have received guarantees for future involvement with other races started by the UCI/GCP according to sources of some of our writers.

Withdrawing this bid gives them a card to play later. It will be interesting to see where this arises.

Again, the fingerprints are directly sticking into the pie. Darach McQuaid wins 2015.

In terms of Oman withdrawing from the 2015 world champs bid it was nothing to do with aso. Indeed as far as I'm aware aso gave their full support. Rather the uci informed the Oman committee to withdraw their bid or there would be repercussions for the tour of oman. I wonder who is organising the 2015 race?
