If the peleton ever does get “off their arses and collectively barks” – the ASO will play the “reality tv” card and “throw up some amateur French lads” to ride it out.

The networks destroyed scripted television to hold onto their money when the writers went on strike. And now we have Survivor Housewives of Hells Kitchen.

Besides, if you haven’t noticed Americans have pretty much turned their backs on unions of all sorts. And a union of mostly non-Americans riding their bicycles in European races won’t garner much sympathy in the US. Not that the US audience is much of a concern to the ASO – except for how many ever Benjamins NBC (aka Vs) sends their way.
